One week long, from October 27 to November 3 2008, 14 coaches from eight nations met for the 12th ISSF Academy C Coaches course that was conducted in Kuortane, Finland.
During the weeks time the basic course C, one of three levels of the ISSF coaches’ education programme, was held. Here the participants had the possibility to gain insight and knowledge in one of the Olympic shooting sport disciplines as well as other coaching related subjects such as nutrition, physical education, and psychology and sports management. Conclusion found the course in the homework presentation of each participant which each had to submit as prerequisite of the course as well as a written exam including question to all field of coaching. All participants successfully completed the course. Mrs Unni Nicolaysen, ISSF Vice-President closed the course yesterday evening and the ISSF lecturers in the disciplines pistol - rifle - shotgun, Zeljko Todorovic MNE, Kimmo Yli-Jaskari, FIN and Per Bjoernar Moen, NOR together with Paul Holmes, GBR lecturer of the psychology session had awarded to all participants the ISSF “C” Coaches license, again prerequisite for the next level of the ISSF Academy.
